Ballon Week is fast approaching so it’s time to organize those all important travel arrangements for when you’re heading to some of the epic events. 🚗🚌 Our shuttle bus is perfect for both the Home Ground Sounds concert on Friday night and the Cabonne Community Glow on Saturday night. 🚌 If you prefer to drive on Saturday night, our off street paddock parking is the perfect place to leave your car as you head into the Glow. 🚗 Tickets are available at https://www.123tix.com.au/events/47446/shuttle-busses-and-off-street-paddock-parking-canowindra-balloon-week

A common question from this morning: which direction are the balloons headed? Hot air balloons are not able to be steered, the balloon moves with the wind. We do our best to predict the general direction, but sometimes nature has other ideas, especially after sunrise when the earth starts to warm, creating air currents and vortices. This morning the general direction of flight was to the north-west and we will try to share the predicted direction on future updates!

In July last year, the ballooning community lost an absolute legend, when Paul ‘Britto’ Britliff lost his battle with cancer. Britto was an eternal ratbag, who would do anything for his mates and was loved by many both here in Canowindra, across Australia and throughout the global ballooning community. Britto had a talent for taking cracking photos of the world as he experienced it. This led to the start of the #BeMoreBritto tag, to define an excellent photo. Between 20-24 April, another balloonist and artist, John Turnbull, has teamed up with Britto’s partner Helen, to host a tribute and silent auction for artworks John has painted from Britto’s inspiration and photo prints that captured Britto’s Exceptional Eye For Detail. John’s Art & A Select Range Of Britto’s Prints can be viewed in the Briefing Hall at the Canowindra Services Club, with the auction results announced at 3pm on 24 April. So come along to the Services Club, grab a beer from Bulla Creek Brewing and or a glass of bubbles (double parked was a thing) check out the art on display and make a bid.
